Do ULTRA Dryers only save money from energy efficiency?
No! ULTRA generates large payback savings from gains in productivity by drying so fast. In fact, it’s like adding another process machine based on the savings from frequent materials changes!
ULTRA also saves significantly in other areas, such as maintenance, the removal or need for secondary dryers, plus ULTRA contains functions as standard that are expensive additional options elsewhere.
Finally, ULTRA benefits energy efficiency and ESG programmes and is also often eligible for local grants and funding for energy efficiency. What’s more, all ULTRA dryers are backed with a 5-year warranty.
How is ULTRA so energy efficient?
ULTRA saves on energy usage by drying within a vacuum. Under vacuum, the boiling point of water drops considerably, and moisture radiates out of granules. This means far less time, less blower power, smaller heaters, no desiccant regeneration, and no need for chilled water.
Vacuum drying is well established in many industries such as food and chemicals processing – Maguire has taken this concept and developed ULTRA specifically for plastics processing.
What is the Dew Point of the ULTRA Dryer?
ULTRA dryers use vacuum to remove moisture, rather than typical dry air. “Dew Point” is a measure of the water content in the typical dry air process – instead (with ULTRA) we monitor the live vacuum pressure.

What maintenance does an ULTRA Dryer require?
Virtually nothing! Unlike Desiccant dryers that need frequent maintenance of process filters, desiccant, blowers and chilled water circuits, on an ULTRA there is virtually nothing to service.
On top of this, for further piece of mind, all components on ULTRA dryers come with a comprehensive industry-leading 5-year warranty – unheard of in the plastics drying industry!
