No! ULTRA generates large payback savings from gains in productivity by drying fast. In fact, it’s like adding another processing machine based on the savings from frequent material changes!

 

ULTRA also saves significantly in other areas, such as maintenance and the removal or need for secondary dryers. Plus, ULTRA contains functions as a standard that are expensive additional options elsewhere.

 

Finally, ULTRA benefits energy efficiency and ESG programs and is also often eligible for local grants and funding for energy efficiency. What’s more, all ULTRA dryers are backed with a 5-year warranty.

ULTRA saves energy by drying in a vacuum. Under vacuum, water’s boiling point drops considerably, and moisture radiates out of granules. This means far less time, less blower power, smaller heaters, no desiccant regeneration, and no need for chilled water.

 

Vacuum drying is well established in many industries, such as food and chemical processing. Maguire has taken this concept and developed ULTRA specifically for plastics processing.

ULTRA dryers use vacuum to remove moisture, rather than typical dry air. “Dew Point” is a measure of the water content in the typical dry air process – instead (with ULTRA), we monitor the live vacuum pressure.

Virtually nothing! Unlike desiccant dryers that need frequent maintenance of process filters, desiccant, blowers and chilled water circuits, on an ULTRA there is virtually nothing to service.
